Arun Jaitley may not present Budget due to Health Concern, leaves for New York

GUWAHATI: Finance minister Arun Jaitley may not be presenting the interim budget on February 1 as he is in New York for a probable surgery, say media reports.

Jaitley had undergone a kidney transplant last year and has now gone to the United States for treatment of soft tissue cancer in his thigh.

This whole new development makes it difficult for the BJP government on who will make the budget announcements in the absence of Jaitley.

Officially, the finance minister has said he is going on personal leave for two weeks to New York.
