APSC Scam | 22 officials granted bail

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on Thursday granted bail to 22 arrested officials involved in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) scam.

Of the 22 accused who were allowed to go on bail, 15 were arrested on July 18. 

The bailed officials, however, cannot leave the state without prior information and have been asked to co-operate with the police during the investigation procedure.

With this, 41 government servants, including the ACS and APS, has been released on bail.

The Gauhati High Court, however, rejected the bail plea of the suspended APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul, prime accused of the APSC cash-for-job scam.

Further, the court has also reserved the order on the bail petitions filed by three other accused including Pallabi Sarma Choudhury, Jaydeb Mahanta, and Nishamoni Deka.
