The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has asked the northeast to gear up ahead of Cyclone ‘Remal’, which is expected to hit various northeastern states and is forecasted to make landfall between Sagar Island in West Bengal and Khepupara in Bangladesh. This will likely bring extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds in parts of the Northeast.
