GUWAHATI: It has now become clear that the All India United Democratic Front and the Congress have come to an understanding for the 2019 Assam Lok Sabha Polls.
With the last day of nomination filing (25th March) for the first phase, the AIUDF has not fielded any candidate for Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Kaliabor and Lakhimpur till this report was filed.
If the AIUDF does not field any candidates today (being the last day of filing nominations), it just means that the Muslim Bengali voters who are majorly the supporters of AIUDF and Congress have now no option left but to support the Congress or some other local candidates.
AIUDF has declared candidates only for Barpeta, Dhubri and Karimganj
