GUWAHATI: Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home and Lok Sabha MP, announced on January 11 that the plan to have an airport in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh has been approved. The estimated cost of the airport will be INR 1055 crores.

Rijiju said that this project is seeing the light of the day because of the efforts of the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi and his initiative to connect Northeast India.
