From next week onwards, air passengers travelling within Assam and those travelling between northeast states will no longer require mandatory COVID-19 testing.
This was announced by Assam health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through a social media post on Wednesday, November 18.
The minister further added that incoming flight passengers shall undergo the COVID-19 test at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI Airport) in Guwahati instead of Sarusajai Stadium.
Ever since flight services resumed (post COVID-19 lockdown), all passengers to and fro Assam were mandated to undergo test.
