GUWAHATI: The Assam government, in collaboration with the High Commission of India, recently organised a roadshow in London to attract investment for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. This was revealed by Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah on Friday, January 17.

“On arrival in London as a precursor to the #AdvantageAssam2 Summit, met with Hon'ble Minister for Indo-Pacific, @CatherineWest1, at her office,” Borah posted on X.
Borah highlighted Assam's strategic location at the event, positioning it as a gateway to Southeast Asia. He further noted that Assam has undergone a remarkable transformation from a historically disturbed region to a peaceful and rapidly developing state.
Additionally, Deputy High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh further emphasised the state's vast natural resources, enhanced connectivity, and attractive government incentives as key factors driving its infrastructure development and investment potential.
Kevin McCole, Managing Director of the UK India Business Council, meanwhile, spoke on the growing trade relationship between the UK and India, reporting a 10% increase in bilateral trade, reaching £42 billion in 2023-2024.
