Adil Hussain conferred Outstanding Achievement Award in LIFF

GUWAHATI: Renowned actor Adil Hussain has been conferred the 'Outstanding Achievement Award' at this year's edition of the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF).

The Assam born actor wrote on his Twitter handle, "Thank you @LoveLIFF London Indian Film Festival for honouring me with "OUTSTANDING ACHIVEMENT" Award 2020. Means a lot."

Adil Hussain, speaking exclusively to G Plus said, “I feel very good being one of the participants. This could be my fourth participation in this festival. I believe the fraternity looks at the actors’ contribution to the independent movement, to films that are not from mainstream Bollywood, but from the directors, writers, actors and others who are into more meaningful cinema.”

“If the next generation gets inspired to do films that are close to their heart, it would be great. You don’t have to look for just gloss and glitter if you keep doing what you want to do. Recognition might come late but it does come. So people do not have to give up and sell your soul for getting name and fame,“ he added.

LIFF is the largest South Asian Film festival of Europe and is supported by the Bagri Foundation and the British Film Institute (BFI).

Due the pandemic situation across their globe, this year, the 11th anniversary of the prestigious film festival was conducted online from 25th June to 5th July.
