According to sources, the state chief minister was expected to visit Barsapara stadium at 4.10 pm, and accordingly, to ease the traffic, the traffic police barred the shared taxis from reaching Barsapara from Lal Ganesh.
A taxi driver said, "Anyways, because of the flyover construction we are not allowed to go directly to Arya Nagar, and today all routes towards Paltan Bazar are blocked by the traffic police because of the CM's visit."
Similarly, many taxi drivers and passengers were upset with the abrupt decision.
When asked why there was no notification and such an abrupt decision, the traffic DCP Jayanta Sarathi said, " For ten minutes diversion notification cannot be issued."
Well, for the traffic police 10 minutes may not be enough to require issuing any notice, but this is a long harassment for citizens going about their work.
