85-Year-Old Pensioner From Delhi Donates Rs. 25,000 For Assam Flood Relief

GUWAHATI: Many people, even strangers, help us a lot sometimes without expecting anything in return. This is one such incident which proves that humanity still exists in a world where people generally race to acquire money and riches by any means.

An 85-year-old retired pensioner from Delhi, Narendra Syal, donated Rs. 25,000 for the Assam flood relief from his pension.

According to a tweet by a national journalist, Syal said that "we are Indian & Assamese are Indian too; they are our brothers/sisters; who will help them if we don't?"

Narendra Shyal, a resident of Old Rajender Nagar in New Delhi, donated the amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in Assam and also donated the same value of money for the Bihar Relief Fund.

It is to be mentioned that twitteratis from all over the country and especially from Assam, have applauded the noble gesture initiated by the pensioner.
