Guwahati being the gateway and entry point to the northeast successfully handled 8 arrivals alongside 8 departures from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Imphal.

All essential and mandatory arrangements in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic were in place, from health screening to luggage sanitisation of the passengers who were stranded due to nationwide lock-down in several states of northeast, as per a press release issued by the Guwahati Airport Authorities.

Passengers arriving were thoroughly checked for quarantine by the Assam health department, in the presence of state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who himself was taking stock of all medical screening and preparedness for arrival passengers at LGBI Airport Guwahati.

Separate counters were made for screening of arrivals for different districts and states, to be segregated for the mandatory quarantines.
