6 Vehicles Seized In Guwahati For Allegedly Collecting Excess Fare

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (Metro) District Administration has conducted a drive against public passenger vehicles on Thursday, November 18. The drive was initiated for allegedly collecting excess fare from passengers at Lokhra Road and Lal Ganesh areas of Guwahati. 

A total of six vehicles were seized and 33 offense cases have been registered. This comes a day after the matter was raised with Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pallav Gopal Jha. 

In a press meet held on November 17 in the DC Office, the new DC discussed various key issues concerning the residents of Guwahati.

The problems that were highlighted include lack of street lights, garbage collection, encroachment of wetlands, rising crime, among other issues. The DC took notes of the issues raised by the media and stated that the issues will be taken up in a series of meetings lined up in the coming days with various departments.
