GUWAHATI: A 50 MW Solar Project was inaugurated in Sonitpur on March 10.

The project, developed by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a subsidiary of SJVN, was inaugurated in Sitalmari village, located in the Barsola Block under the Dhekiajuli Revenue Sector.
With an estimated cost of ₹291 crore, the solar project is poised to generate 101 million units of green energy in its inaugural year. Over a span of 25 years, the cumulative energy production is projected to reach approximately 2,319 million units. The energy generated will be supplied to Assam Power Development Corporation Limited at a rate of ₹3.92 per unit.

Geeta Kapur, Chairperson & Managing Director of SJVN, highlighted the organisation's commitment to Assam's renewable energy sector. SJVN aims to develop a total power capacity of 320 MW in Assam, including three solar projects with capacities of 200 MW, 70 MW, and 50 MW respectively.
