The earthquake's epicentre has been identified in the neighbouring country of Bangladesh.
The earthquake originated at a depth of 70 kilometres beneath the Earth's surface. The precise coordinates of the epicentre are recorded at 24.86° N latitude and 91.98° E longitude.
