GUWAHATI: 46 organizations in Assam have called for 12-hour statewide bandh in Assam on October 23 in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.
The call was announced by the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS), Asom Jatiyadabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), All Assam Minority Students Union (AMMSU) and several other organizations.
KMSS leader, Akhil Gogoi vowed to disrupt all modes of communication during the bandh hours and called upon the people of the state not to ply private vehicles, too, during the bandh period.
