3 police stations in Assam to be restored for 1.5 crore

GUWAHATI: Three police stations, constructed in old Assam-type bungalow style, will be restored by the state government with a budget of 1.5 crore, 50 lakhs for each station. 

The stations include one in Chatia, another one in Dhekiajuli and the last one in Gohpur, which was established in 1902, where 17-year-old freedom fighter from Assam, Mukunda Kakoty was killed by the British.

The Gohpur station is also being given a “heritage site” status. Restoration process has begun for all these sites.
