GUWAHATI: Assam top cop GP Singh, vide his Twitter handle, informed that 554 police personnel from Assam Police have tested positive so far for Covid-19 as of July 13.
Of this total number, 217 have already been cured and discharged from treatment centers and have recovered. 11 of them have reported back to duty. One life has been lost to the dreaded virus so far, informed the senior police official.

“554 personnel have tested positive to date out of whom 217 have recovered. We’ve unfortunately lost one colleague to date. 11 personnel have rejoined duty after recovery to serve the people of Assam,” tweeted, GP Singh, ADGP (L&O), Assam.
Police and security personnel are being largely affected by the novel coronavirus, now that the state has fully entered the pandemic with a majority of cases being reported from Kamrup Metro.
