KIRTI aims to discover the latent sporting potential at the grassroots level and foster a culture of athleticism within the community. The talent identification process utilises a scientifically designed series of tests approved by National Sports Federations. Participants undergo a series of 10 tests tailored to assess their physical attributes, followed by sports-specific evaluations.

The ongoing talent assessment at NCoE Guwahati encompasses five disciplines: Boxing, Kho Kho, Archery, Athletics, and Football. To streamline the process, the entire programme is facilitated through IT tools, including the KIRTI App, providing a centralised platform for talent identification.

Upon completion of assessments, students receive a digital report card showcasing their percentile-based ranking at both state and national levels.

On the first day of the program, talent was identified in the discipline of Boxing, with a coverage of approximately 1000 students in the initial phase. Subsequent assessments for Athletics and Football are scheduled for March 30 and March 31, respectively, at NCoE Guwahati.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre in Guwahati has extended its invitation to students aged between 9 and 18 years, along with parents and school administrations, to participate in the assessment."
