2 Dead Among 30 Road Accident Cases Reported At GMCH During New Year’s Eve

 

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) recorded 30 road traffic accidents (RTA) cases in which two died, and registered 401 patients between 12:00 noon on December 31 and 8:00 AM on January 1.

Of the 30 RTA cases, 15 were from Kamrup Metro and 15 from outside the district. Among the victims, 26 were males, and 4 were females. 
The deceased were identified as Bimal Bora, 32, from Borjoha Sadar, Nagaon and Surjya Kumar Das, 27, from Amlighat, Jagiroad, Morigaon. 

The age distribution of the RTA cases is as follows : 

* 10-20 years: 2 

* 20-30 years: 14 

* 30-40 years: 7 

* 40-50 years: 3 

* 50 years and above: 4 

There were also five physical assault cases with 4 from Kamrup district and one from outside. Among them, 3 were males, and 2 were females. Of the five victims, two were admitted.

* 0-10 years: 1 

* 20-30 years: 3 

* 30-40 years: 1

Of the 401 patients, 268 were males and 133 were females.
