14-year-old girl from Assam rescued in Chennai, 2 boys held

GUWAHATI: A 14-year-old girl from Assam has been rescued in Chennai by a team of policemen on July 2.

The girl had been kidnapped by two juveniles, aged 17, from Assam, who were handed over to an Assam police team on July 5.

After her rescue, the girl had been sent to a government home in Mylapore in Tamil Nadu and the abductors were sent to an observation home for boys.

The girl and her kidnappers were found by a Government Railway Police (GRP) team, which then informed about the three to police in Assam.

A case has been registered against the juveniles at Golaghat police station in Assam under IPC section 366.
