GUWAHATI: Two more youths from Assam have succumbed to COVID-19 infections. On Monday, September 15, 24-year-old Priyanka Saikia of Golaghat and 26-year-old Rashmi Hatikakoty of Sivasagar passed away due to COVID-19.
A total of 13 COVID-19 positive patients passed away on Monday, taking Assam's death toll to 482.
"My condolences to all bereaved families and friends. Om Shanti," posted state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Twitter.
Monday came to a close with the report that 2,403 new people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, taking the total tally to 1,44,166.
Further, with 1,918 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 28,630 while 1,15,051 persons have been cured of the virus.
