GUWAHATI: World Wildlife Fund (WWF) India hosted the North East Finale of the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2024 at Don Bosco School, Panbazar, Guwahati.

Schools from across all the northeastern states participated in this wildlife competition. A total of 141 schools qualified to compete in the North East Finale, with 282 students battling it out for the regional title. The event kicked off with traditional lamp lighting, followed by cultural performances by the Don Bosco students.
Manjusri Public School from Sikkim, represented by Kyorzang R. Bhutia and Hissay Chenchok Bhutia, claimed the North East Champion title. Army Public School, Shillong, and Sanskriti-The Gurukul School, Guwahati, secured second and third positions, respectively.
The champion team will now represent the Northeast in the National Finals in Delhi in November 2024.
Launched in 2008, the Wild Wisdom Quiz has evolved into the largest wildlife contest globally, engaging over 95 countries. The 17th edition of the quiz focused on "The Ultimate Scaly Survivalist," celebrating reptiles.
This year's challenge saw participation from students in grades 6 to 9, with more than 400,000 children from 4,000 schools globally, including 67,746 students from 403 schools in Northeast India.
