GUWAHATI: Guwahati police arrested a woman on Wednesday, March 19 for allegedly kidnapping her 17-year-old nephew and fleeing to Kerala. She is identified as Rupali Baishya.
The incident occurred on February 14 in the VIP Road area, prompting a case to be registered at Dispur Police Station.
Following the complaint, Dispur Police launched an investigation and tracked the accused to Kerala, where she was apprehended. The kidnapped minor has since been rescued.
An official from Dispur Police Station told GPlus, “The minor has been rescued from Kerala, and the accused is now in our custody. A detailed investigation will be conducted once the team reaches Guwahati, as the motive behind the abduction is yet to be determined.”
