GUWAHATI: Whiskey has been found to be the most sold alcohol in Guwahati and Assam in 2023.
As per the data procured from the Excise Department, till November 30, 2023, Guwahati consumed 13,69,990 cases of whiskey which is around 1.2 crore litres. However, Assam had consumed 1,03,90,438 cases of whiskey which comes to around 9.2 crore litres till November.

After whiskey, beer was the most preferred drink in Guwahati as 5,83,655 cases of beer was sold till November 2023 which is around 50.9 lakh litres.
The Excise Department in their data revealed that till November 30, 2023, Guwahati had consumed 2.3 crore litres whereas Assam had consumed 57.9 crore litres of liquor.
