GUWAHATI: "No movement of individuals shall be allowed on Saturday and Sunday at any time all over the State," states the government of Assam's latest guidelines of Covid-19 lockdown issued on August 13, 2020.
While the Assam government has issued various relaxation in the lockdown guidelines including reduction of curfew timings and allowing the opening of businesses, the weekend lockdown continues to stay in place.

The fresh set of guidelines have been issued “after due consideration of the COVID situation as it prevails in the state of Assam and taking into consideration latest directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.”
"This order shall come into force with effect from 5 AM of 16th August, 2020 and remain valid till 9:30 PM of 31st August, 2020," the order states.Weekend lockdown to continue in Guwahati till 31st August
