SEBA Introduces ‘AI And Robotics’ As New Subject For Classes 9 & 10

 

GUWAHATI: The State Board Of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has notified to introduce a new elective subject on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Robotics' from the academic session 2024-2025 in class IX and from the academic session 2025-2026 in class X.

SEBA additionally stated that the textbook is accessible through various means - the PDF version is accessible on SEBA's official website (www.sebaonline.org) in the textbook section.

The notification further mentioned that the practical marks for all vocational subjects, including Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Garment Designing, Woodcraft, Music, Dance, Yoga and Physical Education, Fine Art, Home Science, Weaving and Textile Design, and all subjects under NSQF, shall constitute 50% of the total marks from the academic session 2024-2025.

The practical marks for Computer Science and Commerce will remain at 30%, as previously stated.  

The practical examinations for all subjects, including Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Garment Designing, Woodcraft, Music, Dance, Yoga, Physical Education, Computer Science, Commerce, Fine Art, Home Science, Weaving, and Textile Design, and all subjects under NSQF, for both classes IX and the final Board exam of class X in 2025, will be conducted at the District level Internal Examination Committee.

The practice of conducting practical exams at the center level is discontinued. Students must achieve passing grades in practical examinations separately, SEBA notification stated.
