Water Supply Disruption In Guwahati Due To Ongoing Pipeline Survey From March 2 To 5

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board has announced a temporary disruption in water supply across all areas under the Guwahati Jal Board’s jurisdiction. The interruption is scheduled from March 2 to March 5 due to the continuation of the robotic survey of the Clear Water Pumping Main.

The first phase of the survey has already been completed, while the second and third phases, initially scheduled for February 19-22 and February 25-28, were deferred for the convenience of consumers. 

Earlier, the residents faced temporary water supply interruptions due to the ongoing survey on February 12-15.

Meanwhile, flushing and testing of the distribution network is being carried out on Friday, February 28, in several areas, including GMC Circle Point to Rupnagar Tinali, Rupnagar Tinali to ASTC Workshop, GMC Circle Point to Bhanagarh, Bhanagarh to EPFO, Jyoti Path, Madhabdev Path, Phuleswari Path, Gopi Path, Sewali Path, Sukapha Path, Ganesh Mandir Path, Ganesh Mandir Path B/L, Annani Bora Path, Piyali Phukan Road, Rupnagar Bylanes, Ridahi Path, Swasti Path, Bishnu Path, Tribeni Path, Durga Path, Rupnagar B/L, Nijorapara Path & B/L, and Nijorapara to Katmill Road & B/L. During this trial run, water leakages may occur at some locations, which will be promptly addressed by the maintenance team.

Similar flushing and testing activities are taking place in other areas, including GMCH Hill Road, 10th APBN Road, Rajib Nagar, Kahalipara Main Road B/L, Odalbakra Main Road, Kahalipara 4APBN Main Road, Kahalipara Main Road MB Road & B/L, Pub Shanti Nagar, 4th APBN and Suhasini Guest House Link Road B/L, Nijora Path, Pub Shanti Nagar & B/L, MB Road B/L, and Bishnu Mandir Path & B/L.
