GUWAHATI: A water pipe of Gammon India burst in Kharghuli on Saturday, August 3, injuring three people.
The incident took place near Don Bosco Institute as the water over flowed from the pipe.
Locals informed that three people were also injured in the incident due to water pressure and were taken to Nemcare hospital.
Water from the broken pipe also entered a nearby house. The local residents claimed that the incident took place around 12:30 pm.
The authorities were allegedly testing the pipe when the incident took place.
“Three people were injured when the water pipe burst. Thankfully there were not many people around in the area when the pipe broke, otherwise the number of injured would have been more,” said Nabin Bora, a local resident.
