GUWAHATI: Artiste Kumud Mishra recently spoke about why society often chooses to worship women instead of treating them as equals.
In an episode of Guwahati Connection, a podcast series by GPlus, Mishra shared that turning women into “goddesses” is an easy way to keep them at a distance. “It’s easy to light incense and offer money,” he said, but true equality means respecting women in everyday life—something society often finds more challenging.
Mishra was in Guwahati for the GPlus Guwahati Theatre Festival 2024. He was part of the play 'Puraane Chawal' which was performed on the first day of the festival.
