GUWAHATI: A leopard that entered a house in Kumarpara Panchali, near Bharalumukh, on Friday, December 27 was rescued by the forest department officials from an apartment building at around 8:30 PM.

Initial reports suggested that there were three leopards, but forest department official confirmed to GPlus that there was only one.
Talking to GPlus, a senior forest official said, “ We initially thought that there were three leopards but it turned out that there was only one. The initial video captured it near the staircase of a house. The authorities tried to tranquilise the animal, post which it escaped and entered the premises of an apartment, as on CCTV footage. After this, it was also stuck under a vehicle for quite some time. We then proceeded to capture it later.”
