Guwahati residents are expressing frustration and concern over the deteriorating air quality, which they say is making it difficult to breathe and impacting their daily lives.

So much so, the situation has reached a critical point, with residents reporting that the dust clouds from construction sites are so thick that it feels like they are suffocating.

A few residents said that they were unable to stay in their shops due to the poor air quality, and the health risks associated with prolonged exposure are becoming a major concern.
Despite this, residents claim that the GMC's response has been inadequate.

While speaking to GPLus, a GMC official said that water sprinklers are being used in most parts of the city and that they respond to calls for assistance; many residents, however, feel that the efforts are insufficient to mitigate the problem.
With the festive season approaching, the demand for clean air is more urgent than ever.

As the city prepares for celebrations, residents are calling on the authorities to take immediate action to address the air pollution crisis and ensure the health and well-being of its citizens.
