Viral Video Of Cheating In HS Exam In Assam's Tamulpur Triggers Immediate Inquiry

GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has ordered an immediate inquiry into allegations of mass cheating during the ongoing Higher Secondary (HS) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) final exams at Tamulpur H.S. School, following the circulation of a viral video. The video purportedly shows vocational students openly copying answers from mobile phones with invigilators seemingly turning a blind eye.

The footage, widely shared on social media, has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about the integrity of the examination process. Despite the ongoing exam, no intervention was made by the invigilators to prevent the malpractice.

As a result, Principal Bibhuti Deka has been removed from his position as the center supervisor.

The Tamulpur District Commissioner’s Office issued an order on Monday, February 17, instructing the Inspector of Schools in Tamulpur to submit a detailed report on the incident.

The order also appointed Circle Officer-cum-Executive Magistrate Elima Kandulna as the new center in-charge, replacing Deka with immediate effect.
