GUWAHATI: In a recent incident at a beach in Florida, US, a parent black skimmer bird was seen feeding its chick a cigarette butt highlighting various environmental concerns, according to a report by The Independent.
The heartbreaking photo was taken by Karen Mason who urged everyone world-over to clean up their beaches and water bodies and stop treating them like “one giant ash tray. #nobuttsforbabies.”
Her post has gone viral on social media all over the world. Environmental advocates and the public in general are condemning throwing cigarette butts in or near any water bodies where unsuspecting animals or birds may consume it mistaking it for food.
