Violinist Minoti Khaund Receives Sangeet Natak Academy Amrit Award

 

GUWAHATI: Renowned violinist Minoti Khaund was honoured with the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy Amrit Award by the office of the Vice-President of India at her residence in Hatigarh Chariali, Guwahati, on April 9.

A commemorative plaque was presented to her by the central government’s ministry of culture for her contribution to Hindustani instrumental music (violin).

The award delegation, led by Secretary of Sangeet Natak Academy Raju Das and board member Pranjal Saikia, along with Dulal Roy and officials, was accompanied by friends, family, and students from various locations.

Khaund's daughter and disciple, Sunita Khaund Bhuyan, expressed her gratitude and pride for her mother on this significant occasion.
