Veteran Journalist Dhirendra Nath Chakraborty’s Condition Not Serious, Media Reports False

GUWAHATI: Recently, media reports had emerged that Dhirendra Nath Chakraborty, a veteran journalist and former editor of prominent regional dailies in Assam, was admitted to GNRC Hospital in Guwahati on Monday due to a severe illness. The senior journalist reportedly fell ill, experiencing a significant bout of fever.

Chakraborty is currently under treatment and continuous observation in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Media reports also emerged stating that he has been diagnosed with typhoid.

However, senior journalist Bhupen Goswami of the Journalists Association of Assam has come out and set the record straight. He clarified that Chakraborty is not serious and not even under ventilation treatment, as some rumours claimed.

Goswami confirmed that the veteran journalist is completely normal and out of any danger. He further urged everyone to stop spreading fake news.
