GUWAHATI: In a collaborative effort between the Kaziranga National Park Authority and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department of Golaghat, a vaccination drive was initiated to safeguard wildlife from potential diseases transmitted by pet cattle. The drive, which commenced on the evening of February 21, aims to prevent the transmission of diseases from domesticated cattle to the wildlife residing in the Kaziranga National Park.

Under the supervision of park authorities and in collaboration with the Veterinary Department, the vaccination campaign targets pet cattle in the vicinity of the Kaziranga National Park. Specifically, areas such as the cattle poles of the Chapari region are being covered as part of the drive.

The vaccination program is designed to mitigate the risk of existing diseases among pet cattle that could potentially infect the wildlife population within the Kaziranga National Park. By administering vaccinations to domesticated cattle, authorities aim to minimise the transmission of diseases.
