Union Health Ministry Issues Guidelines for Conducting Exam Amid COVID19

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday, September 2, released guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for conducting examinations to contain the spread of coronavirus.


"Examination centres are frequented by large number of students as well as their parents and staff till the entire duration of the exam, therefore, it's vital to plan and conduct these examinations, while following specific preventive measures," said the ministry.


The health ministry has issued general preventive measures such as physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible, mandatory use of face cover/mask, frequent hand-washing, and prohibition of spitting in public.

Further, SOPs have been issued for all centres where exams are to be conducted. 


"If any transportation is arranged by educational institutions conducting examinations, proper sanitization of buses/other transport vehicles shall be ensured," the ministry states in its guidelines.


Guidelines have also been issued pertaining to the entry and exit to the examination centers, precautionary measures for high risk individuals, and seating arrangement for conduct of exams.
