GUWAHATI: One United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) millitant was declared dead on August 25. The militant by the name of Sergeant Yankhu Asom also known as Achinta Moran who was injured in the military operation led by the ULFA-I, NSCN/GPRN on August 15.
A release was issued from the ULFA-I on August 25 that stated that Yankhu Asom died at around 5.25 AM, today. Yankhu had been undergoing a treatment after getting injured in gunfire. Yankhu was a native of Malbhog village in Tinsukia. He was the son of Nandeshwar Moran and Soneshwari Moran.
