UGC Asks Authors To Write Books In 12 Languages Including Assamese 

 

GUWAHATI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked interested authors, critics and the faculty members of all higher education institutes to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) for writing original textbooks in 12 Indian languages, including Assamese, by January 30, as per the official notice released on the UGC website. 

“University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India invites Expression of Interest (Eol) from interested Authors/Critics & Faculty Members of HEls for writing original text-books in 12 Indian languages for the undergraduate (UG) level courses in the different subjects of Arts, Science and Social Sciences,” the UGC said in the notice. 

This step is in line with the National Education Policy 2020 which seeks to promote Indian languages, and the authors are invited to write original textbooks in twelve languages which include Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Hindi.
