Two Players From Assam Shortlisted For Duleep Trophy

GUWAHATI: The East Zone Selection Committee meeting was held on August 25, 2022 at Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, in order to shortlist the players from the Eastern Zone for the Duleep Trophy. Among the fifteen players shortlisted, two spots have been bagged by Assam Cricket Association (ACA) players Riyan Parag and Mukhtar Hussain.

The players shortlisted from East Zone for the Duleep Trophy include players from Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Assam Cricket Association (ACA), Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) and Bihar Cricket Association (BCA).

The Duleep Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition played in India. Named after Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji of Nawanagar (also known as 'Duleep'), the competition was originally contested by teams representing geographical zones of India. Since 2016, it has been played by teams chosen by BCCI selectors. Duleep Trophy Season 2022-2023 is set to be held between September 8 and September 25, 2022.
