GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police recovered a Gecko, and apprehended two persons on Saturday afternoon, September 10. The two were involved in smuggling the Gecko from Meghalaya. They were apprehended from Topatoli in Khetri, under the Khetri Police. The apprehended persons were Ruochan Ali and Ali Ahmed.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Khetri Police Station told G Plus that based on secret information they conducted a search operation in the Topatoli area at around 2.30 PM on Saturday. The Police posing as a buyer, came to buy the Gecko. While selling the Gecko the two were apprehended by the Police.
The OC further added, "We handed them over to the Forest Department. They will produce them to the court today (Sunday). And necessary action will be taken."
