Two Arrested In Ganeshguri Robbery Case, Stolen Items Worth Lakhs Recovered

 

GUWAHATI: The thieves who broke into four business establishments of Janapath Complex near Beekay Tower in Ganeshguri and stole items worth several lakhs on January 31 are now in custody. 

Ratul Garments, a clothing store within the complex, suffered substantial losses. Earlier talking to GPlus, Momraz Khan, the manager said, "We had ₹80,000 in cash, and clothes worth ₹10-12 lakh have been stolen." 

Another shopkeeper talking to GPlus added, "We have not calculated the entire amount, but at least ₹2-3 lakh worth of products have been stolen." 

Despite the presence of a CCTV camera, shopkeepers revealed, "This camera is switched off at night, so it could not capture yesterday's event." 

A subsequent FIR lodged by Momrez Khan detailed the incident, citing the burglary of 'Ratul Garments' and three other shops nearby. The thieves broke the locks of the shutters and made away with ₹80,000 from the cash box.

The police investigation led to the arrest of two individuals, identified as Dipak Das and Rajib Ali who were apprehended in Bhella Barpeta along with a range of stolen items which was recovered from their possession. 

The recovered items include jackets, blazer coats, jumpers, sweatshirts, clothing, ladies undergarments, track pants, trousers, jeans, and various grooming accessories, including a hair dryer, styling set, curler, trimmer, and style care products. 

The accused individuals have been identified with their respective addresses, and they have been forwarded to judicial custody. The recovered items have been seized as evidence.
