Two Arrested As Police Recover Stolen Goods In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: A team from Basistha Police Station arrested a scrapyard owner and recovered stolen items on Wednesday, February 12. The operation began with the arrest of 19-year-old Rohit Rabha from Natun Bazaar. A search of his rented house uncovered two stolen mobile phones and six syringes, prompting further investigation.

Further investigation led to a search in scrapyard in Patarkuchi, where a substantial haul of suspected stolen goods was seized.

Among the recovered items were nine iron levers, believed to be burglary tools, along with 17 iron water pipes, 6.15 kilogram of earthing wire, three iron banner holders weighing over 11 kilogram, and a steel boring pipe measuring five feet and weighing 30 kilograms.

The owner of the scrapyard, 57-year-old Abdul Ali, was taken into custody as part of the probe.
