Tripura CM Urges Centre To Introduce Vande Bharat Train Between Agartala & Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha recently urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to introduce a Vande Bharat Express between Agartala and Guwahati to enhance connectivity between the two regions.

During a meeting in New Delhi, Saha also discussed various railway development projects for the northeastern state. “Met Union Minister of Railways and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw ji at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi,” he stated in a Facebook post.

“In the meeting, we discussed on various topics of development like the running of the # VandeBharat Train, inter-city train between Agartala-Guwahati, local train between Dharmanagar-Sabroom, laying new track between Jirania-Bodhjungnagar (industrial estate) and Dharmanagar-Kailashar and Kishan Rail between Agartala-Guwahati,” Saha added.

The chief minister emphasised the need for better railway infrastructure to boost economic and industrial growth in Tripura, and highlighted Guwahati as a viable network for the same.

Additionally, Saha also met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and discussed issues concerning Tripura’s education sector. The discussions focused on the development of Vidya Jyoti Schools, the upgradation of Women's College into a Women’s University, and the conversion of Tripura Institute of Technology into a Technical University.
