GUWAHATI: A fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 22 near Bongra on the outskirts of Guwahati, where a night super bus and a truck collided head-on, resulting in one death and injuries to 10 others.

The crash took place near TechCity in the Bongra area, which falls under Assam’s Kamrup Rural district. The impact caused the bus to lose control and crash into a roadside tree, severely damaging the vehicle and injuring several passengers.
The bus handyman, identified as Mohinur Rahman, died on the spot. Meanwhile, at least ten passengers suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The ill-fated bus was travelling from Dhubri to Guwahati when the accident took place. Both the truck and bus drivers fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the injured passengers.
Talking to GPlus, a traffic police official from Palashbari said, “The vehicles collided head-on which resulted in the death of the person and the others to be injured. We are investigating the matter.”
Upon receiving reports, authorities rushed to the spot, clearing the road and assisting the injured. An investigation has been launched, and authorities are working to locate the absconding drivers.
