GUWAHATI: It was on this day in 2018 that Guwahati youth, Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath were beaten to death by a group of irate villagers at Panjuri in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
Commemorating this day, the Abhi-Neel Smriti Raksha Samiti has organised a programme at the Silpukhuri Rajahuwa Naamghar today, June 8.

The day is scheduled to begin with the installation of a portrait of Abhi-Neel, which will be followed by a drawing session on the theme, ‘Art against superstition’ by artists from various parts of the state.
It is to be mentioned that the duo is still waiting for justice as the trial continues at the Nagaon Court.
