Tragic Road Accidents Claim Two Lives In Barpeta And Dibrugarh

 

GUWAHATI: Two separate road accidents unfolded in Barpeta and Dibrugarh districts on the morning of February 5, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving three critically injured.

The first incident occurred in Dibrugarh at the Dibrugarh Bypass in the Bokpara Khanikar locality. 

A face-to-face collision between a pick-up vehicle and a dumper claimed the life of one person on the spot. The tragedy, attributed to sudden barricades on the dark road which left three others injured. 

Talking to GPlus, a traffic police official from Chabua Police Station said, “The injured were transported to Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh. Unfortunately, two individuals remain in critical condition, and efforts are underway to ascertain the identities of the deceased.”

In the second incident, that occurred today in Howly Town in the Barpeta, a speeding dumper ran over a man riding a cycle near Howly Junior College, killing him on the spot. 

Talking to GPlus, a police official from Howly Police Station said, “The victim has been identified as Jay Krishna Sil, a resident of Lachit Road in Howly Town, who lost his life in the collision.”

Further investigations are underway in both the incidents as we await more details.
