GUWAHATI: A cultural evening in Garuduba, Thelamara, Assam, ended in tragedy when a 19-year-old girl, Srijana Khatiora, collapsed while dancing on stage. The event, held to celebrate Lakshmi Puja turned somber as Srijana suddenly fainted during her performance with three other dancers.

She was immediately rushed to Tezpur Medical College Hospital (TMCH), but doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Srijana was a first-year degree student at Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College in Dhekiajuli. Her unexpected death has left the entire district in shock, with her community mourning the loss of such a young life.
One of the event organisers shared, "We had planned a day-long program for Lakshmi Puja, and Srijana was actively participating. Everything was fine until she fainted during the cultural night."
A witness added, "She was healthy and fit. This incident happened suddenly."
The cause of Srijana’s sudden collapse remains unknown, leaving the people grappling with her tragic and untimely death.
