TikTok Sends Termination of Service Notice to Indian Users

GUWAHATI: The Indian government has officially banned TikTok, the video sharing social media application, from India. 

Reportedly, the application is no longer available on Google Play App store and now a service termination notice has been sent to all TikTok users in India.

Earlier on June 29, the Ministry of Information Technology, had banned 59 mobile apps, saying they are engaged in activities which are "prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.” 

All these apps including TikTok trace their origins of development to China and were widely used in India prior to their ban.
