GUWAHATI: Life in Jorhat was brought to a standstill after a thunderstorm lashed the town, uprooting trees and electric poles on Monday, October 21.
The storm left electric wires snapped, cutting off power supply at many places in the town. According to reports, around 12 to 15 poles were broken, out of which five are located in AT Road.
Roofs of several houses and colleges also blew off during the storm.

Majuli was also hit by the storm and trees and electric poles were uprooted at many places in the island district as well.
Weather reports suggest that the thunderstorm will continue until late Tuesday morning, October 22.
